The walls that delimit the garden are made of stones from vulcanic origin, just as the walls of the house itself.

The idyllic mountain village of El Tanque is located on the northern slope of the Teno Mountains, about 600 meters above sea level. In the 16th century a large pond for irrigation of sugar cane plantations and vineyards has been created here. This water container (spanish: Tanque), next to which the first few houses, farms and a chapel were created in 1540, gave this place the name. Belonging to the island district of Isla Baja, one can start from here hiking in the mountains of Teno. The area around El Tanque is characterized mainly by farming, visible on the great terrace fields with potatoes and many grains.
Today's El Tanque consists of the towns of El Tanque Alto and El Tanque Bajo. After a volcanic eruption in 1706 many buildings were destroyed in the lower El Tanque, whereupon people were forced to resort to the surrounding areas, such as the current El Tanque Alto.
A famous tourist attraction of the place is the Parque Camello. Camel tours are offered here, where you can explore the landscape on the backs of animals.
A special feature of this little town, which not only attracts tourists, is the breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the entire north coast of Tenerife on one side and on the other side over the mountains of Teno to Buenavista del Norte. To the southeast of the island extends the impressive about 3,700 m high volcano Mount Teide.
Furthermore, there are nice restaurants and shops in town, all to reach very well by foot. The capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife is easily accessible by road Buenavista del Norte - Icod de los Vinos - Los Realejos and the northern motorway.
